Set in the sand dunes of the Perth coast, Bacic Group’s new luxury build was conceived as an exercise in minimalism with a bold emphasis on contemporary living.

The Macleod Residence is a design collaboration between Bacic Group and Chindarsi Architects organised on three levels to maximise stunning Indian Ocean and valley vistas.

It’s a sophisticated beach house with a nod to international style. The home is modern but warm with a casual elegance and bright day-lit open spaces that are defined by the extensive use of white, lightly honed concrete.

The house features a minimal colour pallet, allowing the art and furnishings to take centre stage as well as the stunning ocean and valley views.

Special attention was paid to seasonal variations in the quality and direction of light and the flow and integration of interior and exterior spaces.

The emphasis on outdoor living is evident in the abundance of terraces, decks, balconies and courtyards, affording a view from every room.

But the enduring legacy of the Macleod residence will be the bWall insulated concrete walling system, developed by Bacic Group. This is the first house in Australia built using bWall.
